THE MUSE OF REVOLUTION: URANIAN TRANSIT MAY 2018

Dear Reader I woke up today after a messy night of disturbed sleep, which at one point had me staring into the figure of a lady in white standing upside down. Now since I work with astral energies a lot, I could recognize that this was Uranus, ruler of Aquarius, (old ruler Saturn). Also represented as the star card in the Tarot. I also must add that I have over the course of my whole life, worked with Uranian energy very closely. Apart from Uranus, we have our asteroid Urania who is considered patron goddess of Astronomy. For those of you don't know, asteroid positions can also be charted using ephemerides that chart their courses. Our dear friend Roderick Kingston who passed away has worked all his life to study asteroids and their energies on the birth chart. Demetra George in her book ' Astrology for Yourself' also details some of the energies of asteroids like Vesta, Juno, Pallas Athene- who all are said to bring finer energies to play in the charts. Coming back to...

OCTOBER 2017 - MONTHLY FORECAST FOR LIBRA

Dear Librans, Hi. As I write this, on a worldly note, many deeply affective changes are afoot in parts of the world. And these movements concern Librans, arguably, to a greater degree than some others ( like our Piscean friends). This also concerns those especially with a Sun, Moon or personal planets like Mars, Mercury, Venus in Libra, with more immediate noticeable effects. Ruler of Libra Venus is a much celebrated planet, for she comes with a mysterious air surrounding her appearance, which anthropologists have documented has changed over the past few centuries. In my 20s, my friend Peta Searle and I used to pour over Anthony Aveni's research in his book Conversing with the Planets: How Science and Myth Invented the Cosmos ,   among other researchers on writers Julia and Derek Parker and the usual textbooks that for part of anyone interested in discovering more about themselves in relation to the cosmos. Aveni's book has radical evidence for various theories abou...

SPECIAL MOON CALENDAR FOR 2018-2019

Dear Reader I'm a big fan of following the lunar calendars of the world and constantly refer 2 to 3 different ones to find moon positions. Being a student and teacher of astrology, exact positions of planets, especially of the moon becomes very significant, for all purposes of astrology and other related disciplines. For the longest time, I have noticed that Vedic calendars do not include the signs of moon transit, example, Moon in Taurus on so and so days. Conversely, the western ephemeris of the moon has never charted the Vedic nakshatras or 27 lunar mansions, aka asterisms of the moon, in the same document. Researching on this topic, we find that there are 2 systems in practice today, which are the 27 asterisms and the 28 asterisms. What is 12* 51’ 3/7 = 360 divided by 28 days. That number is 12.8571428571428 7 days multiplied by 4 weeks = 28 days How many hours does the moon’s movement through each nakshartha take, in Sun hours? We know the moon takes 2 and a...
