PERSEPHONE AND THE WINGED LION

Dear reader Note: The following is mature age content. Parental guidance is advisable. In the search for meaning, I have discovered something very beautiful which I wish to share here with you. In ancient tarot, there is a two of cups which has some very mystical symbology in it. I read the tarot very closely and divine its messages, usually to find clarity, for my querents. One of my querents recently, happened to be a Sun ruled Leo. The lion, represented in the card two of cups came up with an interesting twist. This one has wings. And underneath the winged Lion Lamassu , we find the Caduceus, which has two snakes, coiling upwards with a sword or a wand between them. Further, we see in a foreground, two youthful persons, one of each gender, a girl and boy, cheering with two cups, one each in hand. What is also noteworthy is they wear the wreaths of olive leaves and the boy seems to be handing something over to the girl's outstretched hand. in the background, we see a hill,...

MONTHLY FORECAST FOR JUNE 2018

Dear Reader I start with apologies to the North Node in Leo, since I bring you a somewhat late update, and since I'm an astrologer and I tend to live in the future, would you kindly find it in you to forgive me? Mercury is riling everyone up, getting their hands to turn into quills and pens, flowing forth with great ideas, conversations and much inspiration to carve out from the self, a greater selfhood. I'm a great fan of Johnny Depp, whose birthday it is on 9th June. I haven't looked at his chart yet, but I derive a lot of inspiration from his work and he's a fine example of the craftsmanship attitudes of Geminis.  Before I proceed into all the juicy gossip flowing out from an eternally chatty Gemini, let me remind you that the moon calendars we have been working on which combine ancient Vedic and modern western astrology are out. It's a great privilege to be a student- learner in the Sagittarius archetype scrolling through such works as the Surya Siddhan...

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ASTROLOGICAL HOUSES

Dear Reader The houses, in astrology are a matter of great significance, as you would know by now. While the signs that occupy the houses are also of importance, here, we capture some amazing information about all the houses, combining sources from both western and vedic traditions. In astrology, all the charts are divided into 12 equal houses. Each house, numbering from 1 to 12 have a significance associated with them. Often, growing up, I remember being very disinterested in mathematics and geometry. I remember thinking, once I grew up and could understand concepts in more depth, that it would have been nice if someone had explained the circles of geometry by using examples of the movement of the Sun, the shape of planets and so on. Perhaps this is happening now in schools, perhaps kids in the future will relate to what seems so abstract and unrelated to life in a much much more interesting way. There are various methods of drawing the houses of a birth chart or an event cha...

MONTHLY FORECAST MAY 2018

Dear Reader I have been away the past week of May and almost the half of the glorious month of the Sun in Taurus has gone, but I have to tell you, I have been treated to the most beautiful energies of this. Attended a most amazing musical concert with as many as 20 different bands all packed into 6 hours, performed by young artists who are yet to leave school. Big claps to all of you young musicians.  Is it any wonder then that Adele, Billy Joel and so many stars of Jazz are all Taurus natives… Here’s what I found on that Taurus: Music’s Raging Bulls. Thanks you guys, I’m having a ball. I must say, having Venus in Taurus and the Sun transit this month has had a remarkably great beginning. So, we draw up a chart of the moment, below, thanks to our friends at Astro.com and we have a power packed southern hemisphere of the chart, with loads of action in personal finances, siblings, home related maters, property and real estate and of course, fun like never before. We all ...

THE MUSE OF REVOLUTION: URANIAN TRANSIT MAY 2018

Dear Reader I woke up today after a messy night of disturbed sleep, which at one point had me staring into the figure of a lady in white standing upside down. Now since I work with astral energies a lot, I could recognize that this was Uranus, ruler of Aquarius, (old ruler Saturn). Also represented as the star card in the Tarot. I also must add that I have over the course of my whole life, worked with Uranian energy very closely. Apart from Uranus, we have our asteroid Urania who is considered patron goddess of Astronomy. For those of you don't know, asteroid positions can also be charted using ephemerides that chart their courses. Our dear friend Roderick Kingston who passed away has worked all his life to study asteroids and their energies on the birth chart. Demetra George in her book ' Astrology for Yourself' also details some of the energies of asteroids like Vesta, Juno, Pallas Athene- who all are said to bring finer energies to play in the charts. Coming back to...

APRIL 2018 - MONTHLY FORECAST

Dear Reader I'm really delighted to be presenting this April's forecast for a few good reasons, good because we are working with some truly amazing planetary energies, and also because some of the insights from working with Aries people in the past have soaked and matured well, yielding something truly remarkable that I wish to share with you. This month, from around March 18th to April 18th, the Sun transits through the sign of Aries ( anciently, from Ares- the Greek god of war). The Sun is exalted in Aries, and moreover, Mars, ruler of Aries, is also exalted in Capricorn, all month! Image Credit: http://byronbayphotographer.com I have in past blogs researched the mythologies surrounding the Ram, the animal that represents this sign- since I was curious about this docile animal, (as opposed to a ferocious one) chosen to represent something terrifying like war. It turns out that the ram ( from whose horns comes the symbol for Aries) is actually a symbol for the story...
